VIP622: Can I run TWO HD TVs from it?

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008
I just got a new HD TV in our bedroom, along with our HD TV in the main family room. My issue is I’d like to run an HD feed to the new TV while still keeping an HD feed on our main TV. Can this be done with one VIP 622? Do the component and HDMI outputs for TV1 each contain different feeds of HD material? Or am I going to have to split the HDMI signal out of TV1 to BOTH HD TVs? In essence mandating that the same HD program be watched on BOTH HD TVs at the same time?

problem with vip 622 dvr

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008
Here lately when fast forwarding my dvr, I’ve noticed that the timer seems to be off and it will not stop where I tell it to stop. It can be anywhere from 20 seconds to 4 minutes from the scene that is displayed when I press play. It only recently started doing this, so I suspect that it downloaded some "update" that f’ed it all up. Has anyone else noticed this problem or does anyone have a solution? It’s really frustrating when you get to the scene you want, press play, then have to rewind because it started playing 4 minutes ahead of where you pressed play.

WOW Cable in Columbus OH With TIVO 3

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008
Hey Guys,
Moving into Columbus and I have a Tivo Series 3. Looking at getting WOW service. Any of you guys have any experience hooking up a Series 3 Tivo using cable cards with WOW? I looks to me that thier cable/internet packages will best suit my needs, since Time Warner will start limiting how much you can download each month in the near future (jerks!!!)

Thanks!

Tivo HD Loud Fan

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008
Am I the only one who notices the relatively loud Tivo HD fan? My extremely silent HTPC (and my other components) are so much quieter than the Tivo. Of course, 99% of people would not care…but for the enthusiasts its just not good enough (i.e. this forum). I am wondering if a simple fan swap might do the the trick? Anyone else experimented or noticed this?

TWC Moto 6412 vs. Tivo

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008
I currently have a 6412, but it may be an old version (DVI out). Darn thing locks up all the time and it is so frustrating. I also recently purchased a Tivo HD. My cable company initially said I could just pick up the cable cards, but now they need an installed to come out (I live right by the cable company). So I don’t want to waste time dealing with an installer and hastling with the Tivo and was wondering if a newer version of the 6412 is any good? I saw some threads about a version III or something and I can pick that up on the way home from work and just return the Tivo. From what I can see the Tivo is pretty good, but its just extra hastle for me. Oh yeah, plus since it needs the phone line (which I don’t have), I need to get a wireless adapter as well…increasing the hastle/cost factor.

Anyway, is it worth it to just suck it up and go with the Tivo or is there a "new" 6412 that does a pretty good job?

HDTV Tuner for PC (with TV out)

Monday, June 30th, 2008
Sup guys, im new around here so sorry if ive posted this in the wrong thread or it has already been posted before (but i doubt it).
Anyways i am building an HDPC for a relative next week with a bluray player, i was wondering if their is an HDTV tuner (internal or external) that could record HD programming but also have a tv out. this is so that i could record the tv show but the HD signal Passes thru the tuner and on the the HDTV.
Also is it possible to split the RF cable comming from a Dish network HDbox (with DVR) so that i could by-pass the tv tuner (one RF cable goes to the HDTV TUNER and the other one to the tv).
And one more question, can an HD box be capable of dual output so that the HDMI goes to the tv directly and the RF cable out goes to the TV tuner?

Thanks!
